Adam Smith

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website.  My name is Adam Smith.  I am a Senior Oracle Functional Consultant with  fourteen  years of experience implementing the Oracle HRMS suite of applications.  My experience includes all facets of the implementation process –  implementing, end-user training, post-production support, issue resolution and documentation.   My years of experience includes implementing Oracle Human Resources, Oracle Payroll, Oracle i-Recruitment, Oracle Time and Labor, Self-Service and Oracle Learning Management.

Over the past fourteen years I have worked in a multitude of industries both public and private sector – including county and state government, public utilities, higher education, FDA manufacturing, engineering and public works, and health care to name a few.  My specialty is Oracle payroll – I have been the Oracle Functional Payroll Lead  on numerous projects, both union and non-union; however, I also have full life-cycle implementation experience in several of the Oracle HMRS applications.

In addition to being a senior lead functional consultant, I also have project management experience.  Prior to consulting, I served as payroll clerk in the Marine Corps from 1988-1994, worked as a payroll specialist for a large temporary staffing company,  performed the role of payroll accounting specialist for a property management company and  was also a systems analyst for a national health care company that employed over 100,000 employees.

My extensive experience prior to becoming a consultant  gives me invaluable insight and makes me a better consultant.  I understand how implementations affect end-users and what the end-users are feeling because I’ve been there.  Before consulting I participated on 2 payroll implementations – both PeopleSoft and Oracle.

In total – I have over twenty four years of experience in the Human Resource and Payroll industry.  I have a Bachelors of Science degree in International Business that I earned while on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.  As a Marine, I was Non-Commissioned Officer of the Month and Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter, promoted 4 times in 4 years, honor graduate of both Sergeant’s Course and Squad Leaders Course, member of the Color Guard and Burial Detail and learned how to shoot the M-16 rifle pretty well (5th Award Expert) all while going to school full-time as well.

My life experience and my professional experience have molded me into  a highly analytical and professional consultant.
